Upon learning to play the fiddle growing up in New Jersey, Vassar was a great inspiration to my learning techniques of playing the fiddle. I never had the opportunity to see him live. I have seen a lot of his videos and have quite a collection of his material and to this day always searching his you tube video performances for my entertainment.I first learned of him in the mid-late 80's on a local radio station where I was so blown away by his song Hillbilly Jazz. Vassar had a Hugh impact on my life musically and I an very great full. I just wanted to pay tribute to him and his family. He is truly missed. Thanks for all the great music and entertainment!
